Overview
Data Center Building Engineer/Electrician – Responsible for providing operational support and technical services that maintain the critical data center’s mechanical, electrical, building automation, security and fire protection systems.
EssentialJob Duties
- Monitor facility operations, quickly identify and resolve system faults and respond to operational emergency situations.
- Maintain and repair mechanical, electrical, building automation, security and fire protection systems.
- Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management Software (CMMS) and Log Books to accurately record and track preventative maintenance.
- Coordinate contractor and management approvals for work orders that require outside contractors. Maintain detailed logs of all work performed.
- Read, comprehend and work from complex technical information (e.g., blueprints, sketches, building plans and schematics) pertaining to electrical and mechanical systems.
- Understand sequences of operation of complex building systems.
- Develop Method of Procedures (MOPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Emergency Operating Procedures (EOPs) for site‑specific equipment.
- Adhere to MOP, SOP and formal Change Control processes to implement changes.
- Interact with all parts of the organization to respond to a variety of service requests and perform any work necessary to ensure tenant safety and continuous facility operation.
- Maintain strict compliance with all Federal, State and Local codes, regulations and standards.
- May perform other duties as assigned, such as maintaining or repairing HVAC, plumbing and other building systems.
- Be a self‑starter.
- Work well independently and as part of a team.
- Possess a well‑rounded skill set and be cross‑trained in all trades.
- Have a good working knowledge of most hand and power tools.
- Be able to complete required safety classes.
- High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
- Current electrician’s license (preferred).
- 2–4 years of critical data center operations engineering experience (preferred).
- Proficient computer skills (Word, Excel, Google G Suite) and ability to learn proprietary systems and software.
- Proficient with Building Automation Systems (BAS/BMS).
- Experience with Automated Logic Controls and Schneider Power Management Expert (PME) is a plus.
- Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).

Base salary range: $78,200 – $83,200 annually, commensurate with experience, education, and credentials.
Working ConditionsNormal working conditions with moderate exposure to indoor and outdoor environments.
Second Shift TimingThis role is for the 2nd shift from 3 pm to 11 pm.
