2nd Shift – 4:00 pm start time (+ shift differential!)

Pay Range
  • A Mechanic Ranking: $42-46/hour
  • B Mechanic Ranking: $34-42/hour
  • C Mechanic Ranking: $27-34/hour
Signing Bonus
  • A Mechanic Ranking: $15,000 (paid in $3,000 installments at 30, 90, 180, 270, 365 days)
  • B Mechanic Ranking: $10,000 (paid in $2,000 installments at 30, 90, 180, 270, 365 days)
  • C Mechanic Ranking: $4,000 (paid in two $2,000 installments at 90 and 180 days)

Responsibilities
  • Maintain a safe and professional working environment.
  • Diagnose and perform preventative maintenance for heavy‑duty diesel vehicles and equipment.
  • Remove, repair, rebuild, or replace assemblies and sub‑assemblies such as diesel engines, transmissions, axles, cylinder heads, oil pumps, fan belts, generators, starters, gauges, tie rods, drag links, ball joints, brake linings, bearings.
  • Perform electrical work including wiring systems and starter rebuilding.
  • Repair and/or adjust electrical sensors, EGR valves, and computerized electrical systems per automotive and federal government clean air standards.
  • Diagnose computerized fuel management systems, ignition systems, and engine timing to determine and perform needed repairs.
  • Weld broken assemblies, sub‑assemblies, and other parts as required.
  • Use, store, record, safeguard, and properly use equipment, materials, parts, and supplies.
  • Maintain shop and work area in a clean and organized manner.
  • Prepare reports and records of time spent, materials, parts used, and work completed.
  • Learn to utilize various diagnostic equipment.
  • Respond to and handle road‑service calls as needed with the use of a company service vehicle.
Qualifications
  • Fleet/transportation, repair and maintenance experience of preferably at least 3 years for a medium to large size company.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Working knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to read and understand maintenance and parts manuals, wiring diagrams, schematics, and other written instructions related to the maintenance and repair of motor vehicles and equipment.
  • Knowledge and experience with repair and maintenance of heavy‑duty vehicles.
  • Knowledge and experience with safety regulations, e.g., OSHA, DOT, as they apply to the operation.
  • Ability to perform maintenance and repairs in a garage and/or the field, in conformance with specifications contained in maintenance manuals, diagrams, and instructions.
  • Sense of urgency and ownership.
  • Excellent follow‑up skills with the ability to complete assignments/projects through to completion.
  • Analytical, problem‑solving, and customer‑service skills.
  • Valid CDL (A class) license preferred.
  • Valid PA inspection license (A+) preferred.
  • Valid air conditioning and refrigeration technician certification.
  • Certification under the federal Department of Transportation guidelines for brake adjustment and repair.
Physical Demands
  • Use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
  • Stand for long periods.
  • Kneel, stoop, crouch, bend, stretch, twist, or crawl.
  • Hear sounds and recognize the difference between them.
  • Use fingers to grasp and assemble very small objects.
  • Hold the arm and hand in one position or keep the hand steady while moving the arm.
  • See details of objects less than a few feet away.
  • Determine from which direction a sound came.
  • See differences between colors, shades, and brightness.
  • Lift 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds on occasion.
  • Use one or two hands to grasp, move, or assemble objects.
  • Use muscles to lift, push, pull, or carry heavy objects.
  • Use stomach and lower back muscles to support the body for long periods without getting tired.
  • Move two or more limbs together while remaining in place.
