Position Title: LED Mechanic

Department: Light Equipment Division

Position

Purpose:

The LED mechanic supports operations by performing preventive maintenance, diagnostics and repairs on the company’s small and light equipment. This role ensures equipment is safe, reliable, and available to support field operations while maintaining an organized, efficient and safe shop environment.

Responsibilities
  • Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting and repairs on a variety of light equipment and small engine tools.
  • Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, fuel, electrical, and ignition system issues and complete repairs in a timely manner.
  • Complete equipment work orders and accurately document maintenance and repair activities within the EQ360 equipment management system.
  • Maintain maintenance records and equipment history to support reliability and compliance.
  • Inspect equipment prior to returning it to service to ensure safe operating condition.
  • Prepare parts order sheets and communicate inventory needs to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop and work area.
  • Ensure tools, equipment, and work spaces are properly maintained and stored.
  • Assist with the loading, unloading, and organization of equipment and supplies as needed.
  • Assist the LED manager with special projects and other duties as assigned.
  • Maintain accurate daily time cards using the appropriate job numbers, cost codes, or T&M codes.
  • Attend company safety meetings and complete required safety or technical training.
  • Follow all company safety policies, environmental regulations, and manufacturer maintenance procedures.
Qualifications
  • Technical training in small engine repair, diesel technology, automotive technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience repairing and maintaining light construction equipment preferred.
Knowledge & Skills
  • Knowledge of gasoline and diesel small engine repair.
  • Understanding of hydraulic, electrical, fuel and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to diagnose equipment failures and determine appropriate repairs.
  • Experience using computerized maintenance management systems is preferred.
  • Strong organizational and inventory management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple repair requests.
  • Commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Effective verbal communication and customer service skills to support internal operations.
Physical Requirements
  • Frequently lift and carry materials and equipment weighing up to 75 pounds.
  • Stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and work in confined spaces.
  • Frequently use hand and power tools.
  • Appropriate PPE is required.
