Pay Rate: $35-$50 DOE.

Skoda Contracting is looking to hire a Diesel and Heavy Equipment Mechanic for our Flanders, NJ Location.
We are looking for a motivated individual to be part of our team!

His/her responsibilities include but are not limited to performing repairs and preventative maintenance on a fleet of 500 vehicles and pieces of construction equipment.

This is a long-term position and an excellent opportunity to have a steady career.

Maintains the company’s fleet of vehicles, trucks, heavy equipment (backhoes, excavators, and dump trucks), and other motor vehicles

Performs routine and preventive maintenance including oil changes and tune-ups

Identifies mechanical problems either visually or with computer diagnostic equipment

Repairs or replaces malfunctioning parts and systems such as brake pads, belts, water pumps, transmissions, and other mechanical parts.

Test drives vehicle to confirm safe and proper operation.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• A qualified candidate must have 5+ years of Mechanic experience working on vehicles, backhoes, excavators, small engines, and dump trucks

• Valid Driver's License

• Must have his/ her own basic tools

• Be motivated, focused, and proactive

Skoda has been an established prime gas contractor for over 50 years and is currently expanding. Some of our clients are AGL Resources, UGI, PSE&G, and Washington Gas. Our services include but are not limited to: gas pipeline installation, pipe replacement, gas meter installation, milling and paving, construction management, corrosion control/cathodic protection, and horizontal directional drilling.
