Automated Vehicle Operator/Laborer – Hightstown Borough.

Department of Public Works is seeking a Full-time Automated Vehicle Operator to perform a wide range of manual and semi-skilled public works duties, including road and grounds maintenance, snow and ice control, building and facility upkeep, and assistance with construction, repair, and sanitation activities. Under the direction of supervisory staff, the position involves physical labor such as lifting, digging, loading and unloading materials, operating hand and power tools, and assisting with the operation of public works vehicles and equipment.

Applicants must possess a valid New Jersey driver's license, the ability to lift up to 100 pounds, and the ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. A CDL (Class

B) is required. Overtime, emergency response, and after-hours work may be required, particularly during snow or storm events. Salary ranges from $25.00 to $42.00 per hour, commensurate with qualifications, background, and experience. Employees who have completed their probationary period by the effective date will receive a contractual automatic wage increase of $1.25 per hour in 2027.

The Borough intends to fill only one position. The position will be filled as either a Laborer or an Automated Vehicle Operator, depending on the qualifications of the successful candidate.
