Job SummaryThe CIPP Technician is responsible for assisting with the inspection, repair, replacement, and rehabilitation of residential and commercial sewer, water, and plumbing systems. This role supports trenchless pipe rehabilitation (CIPP lining). CIPP Technicians work as part of a crew to safely operate equipment, perform installations, and maintain job site efficiency.
This position requires physical labor, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work outdoors in various conditions.
Key Responsibilities Trenchless Pipe Rehabilitation (CIPP)- Assist with Cured-In-Place Pipe (CIPP) installations
- Prepare pipelines for lining including cleaning, descaling, and CCTV inspection
- Assist with liner inversion, curing processes, and reinstatement of service connections
- Set up and operate CIPP equipment such as inversion drums, boilers, compressors, and cameras
- Assist with installation, repair, and replacement of sewer and water service lines
- Support excavation projects including trench digging, pipe exposure, and back filling
- Cut, fit, assemble, and install piping systems using appropriate tools and materials
- Perform leak detection and repair work
- Operate or assist with operation of equipment such as:
- Excavators
- Mini-excavators
- Hydro-jetters
- CCTV sewer cameras
- Pipe cutting and threading tools
- Maintain and clean tools and equipment after each job
- Load and unload materials and equipment
- Assist crew leaders with project setup and site preparation
- Maintain safe job sites following OSHA and company safety policies
- Install traffic control and site protection as required
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members
- Assist with recording job details, materials used, and job progress
- Take photos and assist with project documentation when required
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred but not required)
- Ability to lift 50-75 lbs
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand and power tools
- Willingness to learn excavation and trenchless technologies
- Plumbing, sewer, or underground utility experience
- Experience with CIPP trenchless pipe lining
- Experience operating excavators or skid steers
- Knowledge of sewer camera inspection equipment
- OSHA safety training
- Frequent lifting, bending, kneeling, and climbing
- Ability to work in trenches and confined spaces when necessary
- Ability to stand and work for extended periods
- Residential and commercial properties
- Exposure to dirt, wastewater systems, and construction equipment
- Occasional emergency or after-hours work
