Facilities Maintenance Technician
The Facilities Maintenance Technician travels between warehouse locations to diagnose and repair a wide range of facility-related issues. This role focuses on maintaining safe, reliable, and efficient warehouse operations by performing electrical, HVAC, plumbing, sprinkler system, mechanical, and general building repairs.
Responsibilities- Travel between multiple warehouse sites to inspect, diagnose, and repair facility-related issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Perform electrical maintenance and repairs, including troubleshooting electrical systems, components, and equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC systems to support proper climate control and efficient operation within warehouse facilities.
- Inspect, maintain, and repair sprinkler systems and related components to support proper fire protection functionality.
- Perform plumbing repairs and maintenance, including identifying and resolving leaks, clogs, and other plumbing-related issues.
- Carry out general mechanical and facilities maintenance tasks to keep building systems and equipment in good working order.
- Conduct routine inspections of warehouse facilities to identify potential issues and perform preventive maintenance.
- Troubleshoot equipment and facility problems using systematic diagnostic methods to determine root causes and appropriate solutions.
- Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used to support accurate recordkeeping and ongoing facility management.
- Collaborate with site personnel to understand maintenance needs, communicate repair status, and minimize disruption to warehouse operations.
- Respond to on-call requests for urgent maintenance needs and address issues promptly to maintain safe and functional facilities.
- Hands-on experience performing facilities maintenance in a warehouse or similar industrial environment.
- Practical experience with electrical systems, including troubleshooting and repairing electrical components and equipment.
- Experience maintaining and repairing HVAC systems within commercial or industrial facilities.
- Experience inspecting, maintaining, and repairing sprinkler systems used for fire protection.
- Strong troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve facilities, mechanical, and equipment issues efficiently.
- Experience with plumbing maintenance and repairs, including resolving leaks and other plumbing issues.
- Mechanical aptitude and experience working with a variety of building systems and maintenance tools.
- Ability to work independently across multiple sites and manage time effectively to complete assigned tasks.
- Strong attention to safety and adherence to safe work practices while performing maintenance activities.
- Effective communication skills to interact with facility staff and report issues and resolutions clearly.
Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience as a maintenance technician in warehouses or large facilities.
- Comfort working with a variety of building systems, including electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and handle both scheduled maintenance and urgent repair requests.
- Willingness to participate in on-call rotations to support after-hours or urgent facility needs.
