Position: Employment Training Specialist (Per Piem)
Location: Sicklerville

Employment Training Specialist

As an Employment Training Specialist at Devereux, you will work with dedicated professionals to help individuals in need.

The Employment Training Specialist reports directly to the Supported Employment Manager and is a statewide position. Salary starts at $20.92 per hour and increases with education/experience.

Responsibilities
  • Identify the individual's interests to facilitate a job or career choice.
  • Identify the individual's skills and talents using functional community‑based assessments to facilitate a job or career choice.
  • Identify workplace supports that assist individuals with a disability in becoming employed and/or maintaining employment.
  • Identify and negotiate customized jobs for individuals with disabilities.
  • Address employer concerns about hiring and supervising people with disabilities while maintaining confidentiality of job seekers.
  • Use data‑collection techniques to document the effectiveness of workplace supports and guide fading from the job site.
  • Provide or facilitate on‑site and off‑site supports to increase the odds of success for individuals with disabilities.
  • Collect and analyze performance data to assist with decisions about the effectiveness of workplace supports; modify supports or develop new ones as needed.
  • Identify and develop natural supports in the workplace.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Valid non‑provisional driver’s license.
  • Age 18 years or older (required).
  • Ability to attend ten days of paid onsite orientation on weekdays.
  • Empathetic, team‑oriented approach to caring for individuals.
