Housing Supports Worker

CSPNJ, a mental health nonprofit agency, is looking for a Housing Supports Worker in Salem County. Under the direction of the Director of Unhoused, the Housing Supports Worker provides pre-tenancy and tenancy-sustaining services designed to support individuals in securing and maintaining stable housing, developing independent living skills, and working toward achieving their goals and full potential. 50% - 75% of time will be spent out in the community.

Highlights

  • Ability to maintain a caseload of 25-30 persons served.
  • Document observations, relevant information, and services provided through timely touchpoint progress notes and other required documentation as needed.
  • Assess residents' daily living skills and based on identified needs, provide instruction and support in budgeting, cooking, laundry, cleaning, shopping, personal hygiene, and self-advocacy.
  • Monitor resident property conditions and identify, address, and report maintenance, safety, or compliance concerns as needed.

Full-time | Benefit Eligible (Medical, free DMO dental & free vision) including 6 weeks PTO & 11 Holidays

Schedule:

8:00am to 4:30pm Monday through Friday. No exceptions!

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a mental health related discipline preferred; alternatively, a high school diploma with 3+ years of related work/lived experience.
  • Must successfully complete a 7-year background check and fingerprinting process as a condition of employment.
  • Ability to prepare clear, concise, timely, and accurate billable progress notes in accordance with clinical, regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to carry out essential domestic responsibilities in support of daily living.
  • Strong communication skills that promote collaboration and positive relationships.
  • A prominent level of patience and emotional resilience.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure, demonstrate sound judgment, and adapt effectively to changing situations.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and provide consistent support to multiple residents.
  • Proficient in MS Office products, as well as general computer literacy.
  • Ability to effectively engage and support individuals with mental health diagnoses through empathy, professionalism, and trauma-informed approaches.
  • Bilingual skills a plus!
  • MUST have a valid NJ Driver's License with acceptable driving record.
