Compassionate Driver Needed for Adult Day Habilitation Program

Are you a reliable and empathetic individual who values punctuality and safety? We’re looking for a dedicated driver to transport adults with autism to and from our program. Position: Driver

Responsibilities:

• Timely Transport: Adhere strictly to the scheduled pick-up and drop-off times. Split-shift schedule with each shift lasting 1.5 to 2 hours.
• Safety First: Ensure that all passengers are safely secured in their seats with seat belts before driving.
• Assist Passengers: Get out of the van to help adults into and out of the vehicle, offering support and ensuring their comfort.
• Comfort and Care: Maintain a positive and supportive demeanor, making sure the environment within the van is welcoming and comfortable.
• Time Management: Demonstrate exceptional time management skills to ensure timely arrivals and departures, effectively balancing split shifts.

Requirements:

• Valid Driver’s License: Must have a clean driving record and a valid driver’s license.
• Reliability: Strong commitment to punctuality and consistency.
• Compassion and Patience: Ability to provide emotional support and understand the needs of individuals with autism.
• Communication Skills: Effective communication skills to interact respectfully with passengers and coordinate with program staff.
• Physical Ability: Ability to assist passengers in and out of the van as needed, and ensure all safety measures are followed.
