Substitute School Bus Aide

Transportation Supervisor / Business Administrator

To assist the bus driver in providing safe transportation for students.

• Ability to read, write and perform assigned duties
• Minimum experience as determined by the board
• Knowledge of bus passenger safety and effective discipline procedures
• Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status

• Assist the bus driver in maintaining student conduct on the bus
• Assist young or disabled students in getting on and off the bus
• Provide written records of violations of student code to the building principal
• Collect personal items left on the bus and turn them over to the school secretary
• Provide instruction to students regarding passenger safety and ensure that students wear their seat belts when the bus is equipped
• Participate in scheduled emergency bus exit drills

Salary and work year to be determined by the Board of Education.

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of noncertified staff.
