Pay Range: $21-$25/hour
Position ProfileResponsible for timely and accurate execution of key tasks in Receiving or Shipping. Follows established procedures, maintains a clean environment, and supports a clear visual workflow.
Key ResponsibilitiesReceiving:
- Maintain accurate counts and inventory records.
- Receive and unload incoming materials, comparing packing slips with purchase orders to verify accuracy.
- Unpack, sort, count, re‑package, label, and log inventory.
- Inspect shipments for damages or defects, record discrepancies, and notify supervisors or procurement for returns.
- Deliver items to requisitioning departments and obtain authorized signatures.
- Enter data electronically into databases and MRP, prepare routine reports, and file receiving records.
- Train personnel in required technical tasks for Receiving.
Shipping:
- Prepare shipments for postal or commercial conveyance, selecting the most economical method and appropriate container.
- Prepare bills of lading and verify items against work orders.
- Enter data electronically into databases and MRP, prepare routine reports, and file shipping records.
- Track lost shipments and customer claims, initiating proof of delivery documents.
- Train personnel in required technical tasks for Shipping.
Additional Duties:
- Operate lift cart, pallet jack, and/or forklift as directed.
- Prepare routine administrative paperwork and maintain records.
- Adhere to safety, quality, housekeeping, and company policies.
- Participate in team meetings and improvement initiatives.
- Communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
- Keep management informed of area activities and significant issues.
- Assume related duties as required.
- Maintain a clean, secure work area.
- Complete special projects and miscellaneous assignments as required.
- Control exposure to manufacturing and shipping environment hazards (fluids, fumes, moving mechanical parts, noise).
- Use standard office equipment, including computer, phone, and copier.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Relevant experience in manual and electronic Receiving Department functions.
- Knowledge of light equipment operation and/or maintenance.
- Knowledge of postal or commercial shipping methods and procedures.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills for all levels of personnel.
- Computer literate, with proficiency in MS Office.
- Regularly required to talk, hear, reach, and use hands to handle items.
- Capable of standing, sitting, walking, stooping, or crouching and moving about the facility.
- Required to lift or move items up to 25 pounds.
- Requires vision and hearing checks to meet job specifications.
This is a full‑time position with a 40‑hour work week, Monday through Friday. Overtime and weekend work may be required. No travel is expected. Proof of U.S. citizenship and/or an export license may be required for this role.
