A Day in the Life

The Inventory Control Lead is part of the Distribution function within Medtronic’s supply chain operations, supporting inventory accuracy and material flow activities within the distribution center. This role serves as a key resource for inventory control processes, partnering with Operations, Quality, and other cross-functional teams to ensure accurate inventory records, effective cycle count execution, and resolution of inventory discrepancies. This position is located in Swedesboro, New Jersey and is 100% onsite within the distribution center.

Responsibilities
  • Lead second-shift inventory control activities to support accurate inventory records and efficient distribution center operations.
  • Coordinate and oversee cycle count execution, reconciliation activities, and inventory adjustment processes.
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurring issues.
  • Provide daily direction, training, and technical support to inventory control personnel.
  • Review inventory transactions, system data, and reporting to identify accuracy concerns and process improvement opportunities.
  • Partner with Operations, Quality, and other functional teams to resolve inventory-related issues and support operational priorities.
  • Monitor compliance with inventory control procedures, documentation requirements, and audit readiness standards.
  • Support supervisors and managers with workload prioritization, process improvement initiatives, and special projects.
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience
  • Experience conducting cycle counts, inventory reconciliations, and inventory discrepancy investigations.
  • Experience utilizing warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory management systems, or related supply chain technology.
  • Experience leading work assignments, training team members, or providing day-to-day operational direction within a warehouse or distribution environment.
  • Ability to analyze inventory data, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • SAP experience
  • For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience conducting cycle counts, inventory reconciliations, and inventory discrepancy investigations.
  • Experience utilizing warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory management systems, or related supply chain technology.
  • Experience leading work assignments, training team members, or providing day-to-day operational direction within a warehouse or distribution environment.
  • Ability to analyze inventory data, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
