The Process Quality Engineer is a professional who understands the principles of product and service quality evaluation and control. The role assists in the development and operation of quality control systems, and the application and analysis of testing and inspection procedures. They use metrology and statistical methods to diagnose and correct improper quality control practices. They understand human factors and motivation, are familiar with quality cost concepts and techniques, and have the knowledge and ability to develop and administer management information systems.
They also audit quality systems for deficiency identification and correction.
- Support cross functional teams within the business and drive process and product non-conformance reduction through data analysis and reporting.
- Participate in the APQP Quality planning process, developing control plans, inspection plans, as well as PPAP, FAIR, and FMEA/PFMEA activities.
- Be a champion of continual improvement, help lead MRB and Root Cause Corrective Actions.
- Work with customers, suppliers, and the manufacturing group to facilitate problem resolution and to validate that product quality requirements have been met.
- Be a strong resource for general quality improvement projects and development plans.
- Mentor and help train as needed.
- Perform and participate in various types of audits (internal document, part, process, product, supplier, customer, and other).
- Certified ASQ Quality Engineer (ASQ CE) or a two‑year engineering related college degree, with at least 5 years of direct or indirect experience in manufacturing quality, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in battery production, machining, and electronic assembly, and an additional plus for similar manufacturing environments.
- Professional ethics and conduct.
- Strong facilitation, problem and conflict resolution, and leadership principles.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and guide decisions to improve performance.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to prepare and present executive-level reports and presentations.
- Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and planning tools (Infor Syteline, SAP).
- Expertise in CAD/CAE tools or data‑intensive user interfaces.
- Proficiency in SharePoint, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, and MS PowerPoint; strong Excel skills required.
- Willingness to travel 10 %–25 %, depending on business needs.
