Responsibilities
- Serve as a field and operations EHS resource through site visits, customer engagements, field observations, job safety reviews, and direct support to employees and frontline leaders
- Champion a zero-incident culture through employee engagement, hazard recognition, proactive risk management, safety ownership, and leadership accountability
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve EHS&S programs, policies, procedures, and management systems
- Partner with operations, project management, engineering, and field teams to integrate EHS requirements into project execution, operational planning, change management, and daily work
- Conduct risk assessments, workplace inspections, safety audits, and field evaluations; implement corrective and preventive actions
- Lead incident, injury, property damage, and near-miss investigations; facilitate root cause analyses and drive corrective actions
- Design, deliver, and maintain safety training, qualification, certification, and competency programs
- Administer workforce compliance processes, including employee qualifications, contractor safety programs, drug and alcohol testing, background screenings, driving record reviews, customer-specific vetting, badging, and work authorization requirements
- Monitor, analyze, and communicate EHS performance metrics, compliance indicators, and corrective action effectiveness
- Maintain required records, permits, reporting systems, and regulatory documentation
- Provide practical, risk-based solutions to operational leadership and field personnel
- Support safety committees and continuous improvement initiatives
- Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Safety Engineering, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered
- 5+ years of EHS experience supporting industrial, manufacturing, service, construction, energy, utility, or field operations environments
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, and applicable environmental, health, and safety regulations
- Experience developing, implementing, and maintaining EHS programs, policies, procedures, and compliance initiatives
- Experience conducting risk assessments, incident investigations, root cause analyses, compliance audits, inspections, and corrective action management
- Experience supporting field-based employees, contractors, and operational teams, including safety training, workforce qualifications, certifications, regulatory recordkeeping, and compliance documentation
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and EHS management systems
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, locations, and a geographically dispersed workforce
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% domestically
- Valid driver's license and authorization to work in the United States
- Preferred:
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Safety Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, or a related discipline - Preferred: 7+ years of progressive EHS experience
- Preferred:
Professional certification such as CSP, CIH, CHST, CHSM, ASP, or equivalent - Preferred experience supporting multi-site operations and remote field service teams, contractor safety management, workforce qualification programs, customer compliance requirements, and personnel vetting processes
- Preferred experience developing and delivering safety training, competency management, and qualification programs
- Preferred working knowledge of EHS management systems such as VelocityEHS, Quentic, Intelex, Benchmark, Gensuite, Enablon, or similar
- Strong communication, coaching, organizational, and relationship-building skills
- Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels without direct authority
Demonstrates expertise in developing and implementing EHS programs, conducting risk assessments, and managing compliance initiatives. Proven ability to lead safety training and foster a zero-incident culture through effective communication and stakeholder engagement.
