Quality Assurance Supervisor & Metrology Lead
About the Role As a Quality Assurance Supervisor and Metrology Specialist, you will oversee inspection operations and drive excellence in precision manufacturing. You will leverage your expertise in CMM programming and team leadership to ensure all components meet rigorous quality standards and support continuous process improvement.
Responsibilities
- Direct and mentor the inspection team, fostering a culture of precision and professional growth.
- Develop and execute complex programs for CNC CMM equipment to ensure accurate part validation.
- Analyze intricate engineering blueprints and GD&T specifications to confirm product conformance.
- Utilize advanced metrology instrumentation, including optical comparators and handheld precision tools, to perform detailed dimensional analysis.
- Execute first-article inspections and final audits to maintain high-quality output.
- Collaborate with production departments to resolve non-conformances and implement effective corrective actions.
- Generate comprehensive quality reports and maintain compliance with standards such as AS9102 and ISO 9001.
Qualifications
Required Skills- 3+ years of experience in a high-precision manufacturing inspection role.
- Proven proficiency in operating and programming CNC CMM machines.
- Strong leadership background with the ability to train and guide technical staff.
- Expertise in reading and interpreting complex technical drawings and GD&T.
- Solid understanding of quality management systems and industry compliance.
- Experience with PC-DMIS or MCOSMOS metrology software.
- ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) or similar professional certification.
- Background in supporting process improvement initiatives within a production environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for cross-departmental collaboration.
