Company Description

Cannon Boiler Works, Inc. is a Pittsburgh-based company specializing in industrial steam systems, boiler equipment, heat recovery equipment, and field service support. Since 1972, we have provided engineered equipment and service solutions to industrial facilities throughout the nation.

We are seeking a motivated Outside Sales Representative to grow sales of boiler systems, Cannon manufactured products, and industrial service work within our Western Pennsylvania Territory.

Position Overview

The Outside Sales Representative develops and maintains relationships with industrial customers to identify opportunities for equipment sales, manufactured products, and service work related to steam and boiler systems in the Western Pennsylvania area.

This role involves regular visits to industrial facilities, engineering firms, and contractors to understand customer needs and provide practical solutions. Sales opportunities may range from maintenance and repair work to larger capital equipment projects, which often have longer sales cycles.

The position works closely with Cannon’s engineering, service, and internal sales teams to develop proposals and support customer projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain relationships with industrial customers, plant engineers, and maintenance personnel.
  • Identify opportunities for boiler equipment, Cannon manufactured products, and field service work.
  • Build relationships with engineering firms, including conducting lunch-and-learn presentations.
  • Generate new business through prospecting, cold calling, and follow-up with existing and past customers.
  • Prepare and present quotes, proposals, and technical solutions.
  • Track opportunities and sales activity using the company CRM system.
  • Manage opportunities from initial contact through project completion.

Ideal Background

  • Previous experience in industrial equipment or technical sales is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Boiler, Steam, HVAC, or Process Equipment, is an advantage.
  • Strong Relationship Building and Customer Service skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently and meet sales targets.
  • Excellent Communication skills.
