Staff Accountant

New Lenox, IL | Remote (In-office as needed, approximately 1–2 times per month)

Working closely with the CFO, you'll play a key role in month-end close, cash management, financial reporting, and process improvement initiatives. Responsibilities:

• Own daily and monthly cash and bank reconciliations across multiple accounts
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close
• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
• Maintain fixed assets and balance sheet reconciliations
• Assist with internal financial reporting and management reporting
• Partner with operations, billing, and leadership to resolve accounting issues
• Support annual audits and ensure compliance with GAAP
• Identify opportunities to automate processes and strengthen internal controls

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• CPA or CPA candidate preferred
• 2–5 years of accounting experience (public accounting or industry)
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and month-end close
• Experience with high-volume cash and bank reconciliations
• ERP or accounting software experience (Quick Books is a plus)
• Transportation, logistics, fleet, distribution, manufacturing, or other high-volume environments
• Supporting external audits
• Process improvement and internal controls
