Summary:
- Acts as a substitute secretary to the principal and supports school operations by facilitating communication, assisting with problem solving, material acquisition, record keeping, and registration.
- Have earned a high school diploma or equivalent
- Demonstrate excellent office skills and practices. This includes, but is not limited to, being proficient in Microsoft Office, Google, general bookkeeping, organizational and filing skills, data management and information retrieval
- Possess a personality that demonstrates enthusiasm and interpersonal skills necessary to favorably meet and communicate with our school community
- Present evidence of physical exam to determine "fit for duty", evidence of being free from communicable disease (TB), and submit to criminal background check
- Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk and hear
- Frequently required to reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds
- Organize and maintain an efficient and effective office that handles a variety of school related tasks
- Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written and oral instructions
- Successfully deal with problems involving different variables
- Get along with people and display patience to all school community members
- Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
- Perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies
- Act as a receptionist, greeting visitors, answering telephone calls in a pleasant and efficient manner, and communicating effectively in routine, sensitive, and confidential matters
- Maintain school records, including student/staff attendance
- Distribute mail and handle correspondence of the office
- Orders, processes, and maintain office materials and equipment
- Make announcements and operate school intercom systems
- Administer basic first aid and administer medication when needed
- Orients substitute staff
- Assist with arrival and dismissal including changes in transportation
- Assist with lunch routine and procedure
- Assist the Principal and designee and staff in handling interruptions and emergencies, calling for assistance when needed
- Display ethical and professional behavior. Serve as a role model for the school community by demonstrating positive attitudes, appropriate attire and grooming, accepting responsibility, and effective work ethic,
- Perform any duties and responsibilities that are within the scope of employment, as assigned by the Principal or designee
