I.C.E is seeking to add highly motivated individual to our growing Construction Team who can effectively communicate with clients, contractors, and staff. The Resident Engineer / Assistant Resident Engineer will have earned or is working towards completion of their P.E. License Requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:The position’s duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE PREFERRED
- Bachelors of Science – Civil Engineering
- Professional Engineering License in the State of Illinois
- 10-15 Years of Construction Inspection and Management Experience with Transportation Projects including 2 to 10 Years of experience as an RE or Lead Inspector
- IDOT certification in Documentation of Contract Quantities
ABILITIES AND SKILLS
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, stand, bend, climb and crawl to inspect equipment. This position requires the ability to lift or move objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
The work environment is usually dirty, dusty, and noisy, and is subject to inclement or extreme weather conditions. This position will require travel to various job sites (typically 1-2 hours from the office)
A pre-employment background check, driver’s license check, and drug screen is required. Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to travel to local project sites and worked extended hours as required.

Hours This is a full-time Field position. The typical hours of work are Monday through Friday 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, however the work schedule may vary depending upon the workflow of the office. Overtime as needed to include evenings, weekends and holidays.
