Overview
ATTENDING PHYSICIAN, GENERAL MEDICINE - PART-TIME at Cook County Health.
Location:
John H. Stroger Jr Hospital — General Medicine - Part-Time.
- Provide part-time general medical ambulatory care to adults in the primary care setting as part of an interdisciplinary healthcare team.
- Conduct direct patient care sessions per week as assigned by the Division Chair.
- Work under the direction of the Clinic Lead of each clinical area or service of work.
- Travel to worksites throughout Cook County Health as needed.
- Collaborate with mid-level providers, participate in staff meetings, and complete all clinical duties in a timely fashion including charting of patient visits.
- Participate in teaching activities for medical students, house-staff, and other health professionals; maintain CME and participate in other professional activities.
- Other duties as assigned by the Department Chair.
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy Medicine (DO) from an accredited college or university.
- Licensed as a Physician and Surgeon in the State of Illinois prior to starting employment.
- cleared for privileges by Medical Staff Services by start of employment.
- Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Internal Medicine and must obtain board certification within two (2) years of starting employment.
- Completion of a residency program in Internal Medicine prior to starting employment.
- One (1) year of prior experience in primary care practice.
- One (1) year of experience with electronic medical record documentation.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of ACGME requirements and regulatory/compliance expectations.
- Ability to comply with clinical documentation, accreditation and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal and customer service skills; ability to interact with diverse populations.
- Ability to work in an interdisciplinary team and travel to Cook County Health worksites.
- Analytical, organizational, problem-solving, critical thinking, and conflict resolution skills; attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to adhere to department policies and maintain professional demeanor and composure.
- Ability to function autonomously as well as in a team.
- General safety awareness and compliance with department safety precautions.
