Base pay range: $50.00/hr - $55.00/hr

We have an exciting new opportunity for an Adaptive Physical Education (APE) Teacher in Will County, IL for the school year.
The Adapted Physical Education (APE) Teacher is responsible for planning, developing, and delivering instructional lessons that support students with moderate to severe disabilities in the areas of balance, strength, mobility, and fine/gross motor coordination. This role requires the use of effective instructional techniques tailored to meet diverse learner needs.
The APE Teacher will provide both direct and consultative services to students requiring adaptive physical education and will play an active role in the IEP (Individualized Education Program) process for students being evaluated for or currently receiving services.

Full school days Monday-Friday Typical Hours 8:30-3:40 - Grade Level
: K-12, district wide
Responsibilities
:
- Design and implement engaging instructional lessons to improve balance, strength, mobility, and motor coordination.
- Provide direct instruction to students and consultative support to staff and families.
- Adapt physical education activities to meet individual student needs.
- Participate in IEP meetings, evaluations, and progress monitoring.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, special education staff, therapists, and other professionals to support student development.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate effectively with families and team members.
Qualifications
:
- Valid State of Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with Physical Education Endorsement.
- Adaptive Physical Education Approval or ability to obtain an Adaptive PE Approval.
- Experience working with students with moderate to severe disabilities preferred.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
