Children’s Minister (Birth-4th Grade)

Part Time: $10,400 per year
FunctionThe primary function of the Children’s Minister (minister) shall be
to develop and coordinate ministry to children and their parents.
The minister is accountable to the Elders who oversee the position.
The minister shall work with the staff to plan out the church’s
daily operations.
The minister shall be bound by the
Job Description and the
Staff/Leadership Covenant.
- The minister shall complete a periodic background check.
- The minister shall be, or upon employment take the necessary steps to become, a member in good standing of Williamsville Christian Church (WCC).
- Formal biblical training from accredited seminary, university, or college institutions.
- A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or an associate’s degree in a relevant field with at least two years’ experience in an appropriate field.
- Relevant certifications will be considered.
- Cultivate relationships within the community that raise awareness, and promote interest, in WCC’s ministries.
- Be involved with the Elementary School.
- Maintain a social media presence for the ministry.
- Assure follow up on guests weekly. This includes gathering contact information, learning names, discovering needs, gathering feedback, and helping guests get connected into relationships.
- Assure that the weekly administrative responsibilities are met, such that Sunday morning and midweek ministries are successful.
- Engage, and challenge regular attendees (parents and children) to take incremental discipleship steps toward believing in Jesus, belonging to Christ’s family, and becoming fully like Jesus.
- Develop coaching relationships, design training events, and encourage volunteers to develop their servant/leadership capabilities.
- Train volunteer leaders to teach the Scriptures fully, train others for godliness, tend the needs of their classes/groups, and lead others to fulfill Christ’s mission in the world.
- Work with the youth minister to assist with Junior High programs.
