VACANCY
Valley View Community Unit School District 365U is seeking a Registered Behavior Technician for the school year.
JOB SUMMARYAssists in delivering behavior analysis services and practice under the direction and close supervision of an RBT supervisor (Board Certified Behavior Analyst). Executes academic, behavioral, and functional tasks at the direction of appropriate supervisor primarily in a special educational setting and supports students including those with significant disabilities in all appropriate educational settings. Assists with programming communication, scheduling, and curricular modifications.
ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS
- Provides behavioral analysis and services under direction of appropriate supervisor
- Assists the teacher and support team in the delivery of academic, functional, and behavioral tasks.
- Support student(s), including those with significant disabilities, within the classroom and around the building according to need and plans toward achievement of academic and social-emotional goals.
- Assists with communication, scheduling, and modifications of curriculum.
- Collaborate with teachers, clinicians, and Behavior Analysts on design of program and individual behavior plans.
- Implement and collect data for monitoring of individualized, classroom and program behavior plans, and create/maintain data documentation (spreadsheets and graphs) from data collected.
- Collect and maintain additional documentation according to plan development and implementation as needed.
- Assists in the implementation of student Individualized Education Plans/Support Plans/Health Care Plans, which may include toileting, feeding, and crisis response, when necessary.
- Perform all duties as assigned.
- Current and valid certification as a Registered Behavior Technician from an entity approved by the Illinois Department of Human Services (Behavior Analyst Certification Board).
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge of curriculum materials, instructional techniques, and program methodology.
- Thorough understanding of principles of Applied Behavior Analysis, Verbal Behavior Methodology.
- Foundational understanding of special education services and disabilities.
- Good understanding of data collection procedures.
- Initiative to follow through with assigned tasks.
- Effective communication skills.
- Serve as a role model for all students and perform duties to create an environment conducive to enhanced and engaged learning opportunities.
- Ability to utilize crisis prevention techniques as trained.
The work year for this position is 181 days. Hourly salary and benefits are based on market and district comparisons as determined by the Superintendent or his/her designee. FLSA Non-Exempt.
PAY SCALE AND BENEFIT DISCLOSUREPay: $23.00/Hour
