* Job Description:

**** Summary
* * Adjunct Instructor will provide demonstration and supervision during hands-on instruction of the different welding processes to a diverse group of students. May include a combination of day, evening, weekend, and/or off-campus classes.

WELD 120 (1315) M,T,W,R 3:00-5:50pm GMAW, SMAW all positions.

WELD 112 (1801) M/W 11-11:50am 8 weeks Lecture on Safety, SMAW, OFC/OFW.WELD 113 (1799) M/W 11-11:50am 8 weeks Lecture on GMAW, FCAW, GTAW, PAC.WELD 111 (1314) M/W 12-1:15pm 16 weeks Lecture on Welding Blueprint reading.

**** Essential Functions

* Instruct and coordinate courses including lecture and/or lab-based classes ensuring all necessary materials and tools are readily available and that safety standards are met, when appropriate.
* Follow syllabi for assigned courses communicating the expectations and schedule for the classwork.
* Maintain office hours and availability.
* Communicate with students working to ensure student success.
* Collaborate with Faculty and Staff to continuously improve and adapt the student experience to meet the needs of the student, community and institution.
* Perform related duties as required.
** Minimum Qualifications
** The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities required to satisfactorily perform the essential duties and responsibilities.
* Minimum of 4,000 hours of work experience as a welder, welding instructor, or fabricator and successful completion of appropriate ICC proficiency test.
* Ability to instruct students by explaining, demonstrating and overseeing their exercises and giving advice on the immediate topic.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain cooperative and professional working relationships with others.
** Preferred Qualifications
*** Associate degree or higher in welding or related field and a minimum of two years’ full-time work experience as a welder and successful completion of appropriate ICC weld test OR Community College Certificate (minimum 30credits) OR CWI certification with five years’ work experience as a welder.
* Five years’ experience in teaching welding.
