Science Teacher

Science Teacher (Full-Time; 9-12) – Providence Catholic High School, New Lenox, IL

• Serves as a role model and witness to the faith community.

• Teaches general science curriculum with proficiency.
• Implements NGSS through inquiry‑based, lab‑oriented instruction.
• Integrates technology into classroom instruction in a 1‑to‑1 environment.
• Communicates effectively and collaborates with peers.
• Manages classroom and collaborates with staff.
• Revises curriculum and aligns it to Professional Learning Standards.
• Assesses students using a variety of effective strategies.

• State of Illinois Teaching License (Required)
• High School Science Teaching Endorsement (Required)
• High School Classroom Teaching Experience (Preferred)

• DCFS Mandated Reporter Certificate
• Diocese of Joliet Protecting God’s Children
• Diocese of Joliet Fingerprinting & Background Check
• Work Physical/Statement of Health from Physician

Starting salary: $42,760–$47,763 (Step 1) based on experience and education.

Must be able to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, see, use hands, reach with arms, walk up or down multiple flights of stairs, and lift 20–30 pounds. May work outdoors during student activities and in standard office and school building environments.
