Springfield, IL – remote/hybrid available for qualified candidates with DOT experience in Indiana or Illinois - Travel: Limited travel may be required for pre‑bids, site walks, owner meetings and occasional visits between Illinois and Indiana offices
- Review, analyze and interpret contract documents to fully understand the scope and owner deliverables for accurate, detailed cost estimates.
- Review opportunity pursuits and develop preliminary budget estimates and itemized summaries for go/no‑go evaluation.
- Identify critical issues and develop risk exposure summaries with associated cost impacts.
- Provide creative and innovative thinking to analyze and develop strategy and value‑engineering solutions.
- Effectively communicate and interact with clients, engineers, subcontractors and suppliers.
- Perform and review quantity takeoff comparisons to evaluate accuracy and acceptance.
- Work with scheduling staff and operations to develop accurate bid schedules.
- Present complete and accurate estimates to ensure confidence in decision making.
- Represent the company at pre‑bids and site visits.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
- Minimum five years of heavy civil estimating experience.
- Extensive experience with earthwork and underground; PCC paving and concrete knowledge is a plus.
- Highly knowledgeable in earthwork, underground drainage, sewer, watermain and general roadway construction; IDOT and/or INDOT experience preferred.
- Precise attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.
- Self‑motivated, highly organized, and able to prioritize and schedule efficiently.
- Proficient in Bid2
Win or similar estimating software; exceptional Microsoft Office skills;
Primavera P6, Bluebeam and AutoCAD experience a plus. - Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
- Combination of office work and occasional site visits.
- Occasional travel between Illinois and Indiana offices expected.
- Site visits may require personal protective equipment and exposure to outdoor conditions.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
- Prolonged periods of sitting or standing during estimation tasks.
- Occasional travel to job sites for project assessments.
- Compensation range – $140,000 – $185,000 per year (flexible with additional experience in closing bids and leadership).
