Your Day at Lowe’s

You will welcome customers to Lowe’s and help them find the right products and services for their home improvement needs. You will interact with customers throughout the day, help them find and select products, occasionally load merchandise, and ensure all customer needs are met.

Customer Service Associates work in one of the following departments, based on hiring needs and skillsets:
Appliances, Cabinets, Flooring, Live Nursery, Inside Garden, Hardware, Tools, Millwork, Building Materials, Plumbing, Electrical, Paint, Home Décor, Tool Rental, or Pro Services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Welcome customers to Lowe’s, answer questions, and deliver friendly, professional customer service.
  • Assist customers with locating and handling merchandise.
  • Down‑stock merchandise by replenishing shelves.
  • Process orders and deliveries accurately so customers receive merchandise on time.
  • Cross‑functionally train in other areas of the store.
  • Prepare merchandise in your department based on customer needs (e.g., tint and mix paint, cut pipe, bundle wood, cut drywall, cut blinds).
  • Guide customers through shopping or checkout.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 6 months experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
  • 6 months experience using common retail technology such as smartphones and tablets.
  • Reading, writing, and performing basic arithmetic.
  • Ability to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to perform job duties.
  • Minimum lift 25 lbs unassisted or over 25 lbs with accommodation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 6 months of retail and/or customer service experience.
  • Bi‑lingual skills.
  • Certification in a trade related to the department (e.g., hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, lumber/building materials).
Travel Requirements

This role does not require regular travel; occasional travel for meetings, training, or store support may be required.

Working Conditions

Environmental factors vary by location. You may work in both indoor and outdoor weather conditions, including extreme heat or cold, wet, damp, humid, windy, or drafty environments. Noise and moving or shaking objects or equipment may be present.

Lifting guidelines: single lifts are limited to 75 lbs; team lifts are used minimally starting at 75 lbs or when needed. Powered equipment is used as required, with proper training or assistance from a trained coworker.

Pay

Pay Range: $15.00 – $16.80 per hour. Starting rate of pay may vary based on location, education, training, and experience.
