Forklift Operator

The candidate will operate a sit-down propane quad forklift, responsible for picking customer orders and stacking them on pallets. The role requires comfort with picking orders from higher locations and regularly lifting boxes of steel pipe fittings up to 50 lbs. Duties include wrapping pallets, staging orders for trucks, and loading trucks with completed pallets. Additionally, the candidate will be required to change propane tanks on forklifts.

• Operate sit-down propane quad forklift.

• Lift boxes of steel pipe fittings up to 50 lbs regularly.
• Wrap pallets and stage orders for trucks.
• Load trucks with completed pallets.
• Change propane tanks on forklifts.

• 1+ year of sit-down propane quad forklift experience.
• RF Scanner experience.
• 1+ year of order picking experience.
• Experience moving product into and out of high five racks.

• Heavy lifting required.

Candidates are eligible for a bonus of 10 percent of their total hours worked each month based on their hourly pay rate. There is plenty of opportunity to grow and advance on the pay scale, with previous candidates receiving up to a total of 3 dollars an hour pay increase while working on contract. The manager started as a temp and successfully worked his way up, illustrating the growth potential within the company.

The work environment is within a large warehouse consisting of about 6 employees, including order pickers, forklift operators, a supervisor, and a lead. The warehouse is not climate-controlled, so it will be cold in the winter and hot in the summer. The facility is filled with pipe fittings, requiring regular lifting of up to 50 lbs.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New Lenox, IL.

The pay range for this position is $20.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
