Railroad Construction Company, Inc. is looking for an experienced Construction Project Manager to lead heavy civil and infrastructure projects across the New England region.
If you have a background in civil construction, transportation, or infrastructure projects and enjoy owning projects from pre-construction through closeout, this is an opportunity to join a fast-growing company with a strong pipeline of work and a collaborative, field-driven culture.
Responsibilities- Lead heavy civil construction projects from start to finish (roadway, bridge, rail, utilities, infrastructure)
- Champion safety by enforcing policies, developing HASPs, and ensuring OSHA/client compliance.
- Manage project budgets, cost controls, and financial performance
- Oversee scheduling (CPM/P6), planning, and execution
- Coordinate with owners, engineers, subcontractors, and field teams
- Support Superintendents with work plans, logistics, and production tracking
- Manage procurement, subcontractor agreements, and change orders
- Lead project meetings and provide regular updates to stakeholders
- Mentor and develop junior engineers and project staff
- 5–10+ years of experience in construction project management (civil / heavy civil preferred)
- Experience managing projects ranging from $100M+
- Strong understanding of heavy civil means & methods, production rates, and crew management
- Experience with DOT or transportation agencies
- Proficiency in project controls and scheduling software (P6 or equivalent)
- Strong skills in Excel, Bluebeam, and construction management tools (HCSS a plus)
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- Proven leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to travel throughout the Northeast
