TITLE:

Homebound Tutor

REPORTS TO:

Executive Director of School and Family Supports

SUPERVISES: N/A

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Up to ten hours per student per week

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
To ensure that every child assigned to caseload be provided with an ongoing educational program as directed.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

This description of Homebound Tutor is for identification and administrative purposes only. It is not intended to be a complete statement of all duties, which may be assigned or adjusted by the Superintendent of Schools according to varying needs.

* Ascertain the educational needs and the physical and learning capabilities of assigned students.

* Implement an instructional program for each assigned student.

* Meet with each assigned student on a regularly scheduled basis to provide instruction.

* Keep, maintain, and file such reports and records as the Office of Special Services may require, including time sheets and student progress.

* Assume responsibility for obtaining appropriate textbooks and other teaching materials.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

* Current Certified NLPS Staff Member

* Ability to provide appropriate instruction to assigned students

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

* Bilingual (English and Spanish, English and Haitian Creole, English and French, English and Portuguese)

PERFORMANCE EVALUATION:
Annually by Executive Director of School and Family Supports or designee

SALARY: $40.00/hour
