Special Education Teacher

REPORTS TO:

Supervisor of Special Education

PERFORMANCE EVALUATION:
Annually by the principal or designee

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
To help students learn subject matter and skills that will contribute to their development as mature, capable, and responsible citizens.

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

This description of Special Education Teacher is for identification and administrative purposes only. It is not intended to be a complete statement of all duties, which may be assigned or adjusted by the Superintendent of Schools according to varying needs.

* Implement current IEP objectives that have been identified by the students' case managers.

* Oversee and instruct paraprofessionals on their daily responsibilities.

* Document and report on progress made by student

* Ensure supervision and safety of all students during school day and school field trips.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

* As set by the State certification requirements 065, 165 or 265.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

* Bilingual (Spanish and English)
