Position Overview: Teach Cybersecurity and Artificial Intelligence courses that prepare high school students for college, industry certifications, and careers in emerging technology through engaging, hands‑on, interdisciplinary instruction.
TypicalDuties and Responsibilities:
Teach Cybersecurity and Artificial Intelligence courses aligned with district curriculum, Connecticut standards, and industry expectations.
Develop and implement engaging, hands‑on, project‑based learning experiences that promote critical thinking, problem solving, and innovation.
Prepare students for industry‑recognized certifications and postsecondary pathways.
Foster student awareness of careers in cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, information technology, computer science, and related STEM fields.
- Must hold a valid Connecticut State Department of Education (CSDE) educator certificate with an endorsement in one or more of the following endorsement areas: 034 Computer Science, 047 Technology Education and 029 Mathematics or other applicable
Demonstrated knowledge of cybersecurity, networking, computer systems, artificial intelligence, computer science, or related technical fields.
Strong instructional skills and the ability to engage students in hands‑on, project‑based STEM learning.
Preferred Requirements:- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish or Haitian Creole highly desirable.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Engineering, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
Previous experience teaching computer science, cybersecurity, information technology, engineering, or related STEM coursework.
Preferred Industry
Certifications:
CompTIA Security+, Network+, A+, CEH, CCNA, AWS Cloud Practitioner, Microsoft Azure Fundamentals, Google Cybersecurity, or comparable industry certifications.
