Duties and Responsibilities:

Deliver engaging, standards-based health and physical education instruction that promotes lifelong wellness, physical fitness, healthy decision-making, and social-emotional well-being. Create a safe, inclusive, and active learning environment where students develop motor skills, teamwork, sportsmanship, personal responsibility, and healthy habits. Assess student progress, use data to differentiate instruction, and communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues to support student growth. Collaborate with school staff to foster a positive school culture, implement district initiatives, and support the overall academic, physical, and social development of all students.

Minimum Requirements:

Must hold a valid Connecticut State Department of Education (CSDE) educator certificate with an endorsement in one or more of the following endorsement areas:
Physical Education (044) or Health (043). Dual certification in both Health (043) and Physical Education (044) is strongly preferred. Preferred Requirements:
Bilingual proficiency in Spanish or Haitian Creole highly desirable.
