Position Overview:

Provides instruction and is responsible for student learning in a particular time period in health and physical education

Typical

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Deliver engaging, standards-based health and physical education instruction that promotes lifelong wellness, physical fitness, healthy decision-making, and social-emotional well-being.

* Create a safe, inclusive, and active learning environment where students develop motor skills, teamwork, sportsmanship, personal responsibility, and healthy habits.

* Assess student progress, use data to differentiate instruction, and communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues to support student growth.

* Collaborate with school staff to foster a positive school culture, implement district initiatives, and support the overall academic, physical, and social development of all students.

Minimum Requirements:

* Must hold a valid Connecticut State Department of Education (CSDE) educator certificate with an endorsement in one or more of the following endorsement areas:
Physical Education (044) or Dual certification in both Health (043) and Physical Education (044) is strongly preferred.

Preferred Requirements:

* Bilingual proficiency in Spanish or Haitian Creole highly desirable.
