Principal Salary Range: $48,703- $100,722 per year Employment
Terms:
Full-Time, 10-Month (one year position) Bargaining Unit: NEW LONDON EDUCATION ASSOCIATION (NLEA)
Provides instruction and is responsible for student learning in a particular time period in health and physical education
Typical Duties and Responsibilities- Deliver engaging, standards-based health and physical education instruction that promotes lifelong wellness, physical fitness, healthy decision-making, and social-emotional well-being.
- Create a safe, inclusive, and active learning environment where students develop motor skills, teamwork, sportsmanship, personal responsibility, and healthy habits.
- Assess student progress, use data to differentiate instruction, and communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues to support student growth.
- Collaborate with school staff to foster a positive school culture, implement district initiatives, and support the overall academic, physical, and social development of all students.
Must hold a valid Connecticut State Department of Education (CSDE) educator certificate with an endorsement in one or more of the following endorsement areas:
Physical Education (044) or Health (043). Dual certification in both Health (043) and Physical Education (044) is strongly preferred.
Bilingual proficiency in Spanish or Haitian Creole highly desirable.
