Position Overview:
Provides instruction and is responsible for student learning for students during a particular time period in developmental reading and language arts education Typical
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide targeted, evidence-based reading instruction to improve students' literacy skills, including fluency, vocabulary, comprehension, and written language. Assess student progress, analyze literacy data, and differentiate instruction to meet individual learning needs and accelerate achievement. Collaborate with classroom teachers, specialists, and families to support student progress and implement effective literacy interventions. Foster a safe, inclusive learning environment that promotes student engagement, confidence, and success while maintaining accurate records and communicating student progress.
Minimum Requirements:
Must hold a valid Connecticut State Department of Education (CSDE) educator certificate with an endorsement in one or more of the following endorsement areas: 102 or applicable Preferred Requirements:
Bilingual proficiency in Spanish or Haitian Creole highly desirable.
