About This Role

The Operating Room Circulating Nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating individual patient care in the operating room. This role is ideal for a dedicated RN who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and is committed to delivering high‑quality patient care.

• Location: New London, CT
• Facility: Yale New Haven Health
• Schedule: Part‑time, Day shift

• Assess the patient's physical and psychosocial condition on an ongoing basis throughout the continuum of care.
• Develop, communicate, and document a plan of care reflecting individualized patient problems and interventions.
• Implement and coordinate the plan of care in collaboration with the healthcare team.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of the plan of care and revise as needed.
• Plan for education after assessing the individual learning needs of the patient and family.
• Function as a preceptor to new staff.
• Function as a charge nurse.
• Perform other duties as assigned to ensure smooth operation of the department/unit.
• Explain procedures/environment to patients as appropriate.
• Implement actions to prevent patient injury from various hazards.

• Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred.
• Experience: Previous peri-operative course curriculum and/or minimum 1 year of recent experience preferred.

  Valid State of Connecticut Registered Nurse License; BLS required;
  Certification in peri-operative nursing preferred (CNOR).
