Overview

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to drive innovation and develop high-quality designs focused on customer needs. This role involves creating drawings, managing projects, ensuring manufacturability, and supporting the sales team with technical expertise.

Job Description

The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for designing and evaluating products, creating bills of materials, and troubleshooting manufacturing issues. This position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to improve designs and processes while maintaining cost efficiency and reliability.

Responsibilities
  • Develop innovative mechanical designs with a focus on customer requirements.
  • Create drawings, bills of materials, and project documentation.
  • Assist with quoting, including scope of work development.
  • Provide technical support to the sales team.
  • Evaluate product designs for material selection, cost, and reliability.
  • Work closely with manufacturing teams to ensure product manufacturability and troubleshoot issues.
  • Conduct field tests and contribute to process improvements.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in mechanical design and project management.
  • Design for manufacturability experience, including sheet metal and structural fabrication, welding, and manufacturing techniques.
  • Experience with electrical motors, controls, pneumatics, and hydraulics is a plus.
  • Proficiency with CAD systems such as Solid Works or Inventor.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a hands-on approach.
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
