Job OverviewTitle:
RN Clinical Nurse
Location:
Theda Care Medical Center – New London, Wisconsin
Schedule:
11:00am – 11:00pm shift, 24 scheduled hours per week (FTE 0.6). Overtime exempt.
- Utilize the nursing process and evidence‑based practice to assess patients and develop individualized care plans.
- Collaborate with the interprofessional team to provide the highest quality of care and improve clinical outcomes.
- Demonstrate clinical expertise in the specialty area and perform all functions of a professional RN.
- Identify ways to improve patient experience, streamline care processes, and reduce costs.
- Mentor and engage colleagues to foster a professional environment and retain expert clinicians.
- Maintain positive relationships with physicians and team members, collaborating to solve problems and improve patient care.
- Proactively manage risk to prevent crises and respond effectively in life‑threatening emergencies.
- Current Wisconsin RN licensure.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or commitment to obtain within five years;
Associate’s Degree in Nursing accepted for candidates hired prior to 1/23/17. - Required certifications:
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS); for the applicable departments – Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and others as listed for the location. - Experience in labor‑and‑delivery or at least 2 years in a related nursing role (if applicable to the department).
- Move freely (standing, stooping, walking, bending, pushing, pulling) and lift up to 50lb. without assistance.
- Manipulate hand‑eye coordination for patient care procedures.
- Exposure to blood‑borne pathogens and potential communicable diseases.
- Frequent exposure to sharp instruments, moving parts, fumes, chemicals, and potential electrical shock.
- Occasional high noise levels and possible contact with aggressive patients.
- Stand or walk for extended periods; transport and position patients using proper body mechanics.
- Whole‑person wellness approach: health coaches, relaxation rooms, health‑focused apps.
- Minimal or zero copay plans, cost‑sharing premium options, and daycare services.
