Lifeguard​/Swim Instructor

Summary of Job

Starting wage is $9.75 per hour or based on experience. After Certification pay increases to $10.05 per hour.

The New London Aquatic and Fitness Center is looking to hire Part Time Lifeguards for hours available throughout the day. Students and adults are encouraged to apply!!! Must be reliable, hardworking, and able to swim. Training, including certification in American Red Cross Lifeguard Training and Automated External Defibrillation, will be provided. • Lifeguard and instruct swim lessons
• Report discipline of patrons, accidents and incidents to Aquatic Manager
• In-service training
• Check chemicals
• Lifesaving techniques – supporting victim, removing from pool
• Help organize special events
• Customer service
• Cleaning

• Attend required training sessions
• Generate report cards for swim lessons
• Trained in CPR and First Aid (certification can be provided)
• Computer skills;
  Microsoft Office Suite
• Office works such as answering telephone, registering classes
• Office equipment such as copy machine, calculator, fax machine, telephone

• First-Aid, Patient Transport Apparatus, 2-way CPR mask and AED Equipment (Training provided)
• Exceptional communication skills
• Constantly self-improving

• Lifeguard
• CPR for Professional Rescuer Certification
• First Aid Certification
• Water Safety Instructor (WSI) Certification
