Job Description

"The Warehouse Supervisor supervises employees engaged in lifting, transporting and loading materials for manufacturing, shipment or storage. Oversees the handling, packaging, and storage of supplies and materials moving materials in and around production. Prepares schedules for shipping and receiving materials to control flow of goods and regulate warehouse space.

New London, WI (one site) Number of colleagues directly reporting to this job: 15 to 20 Maintains receiving, warehousing, material handling and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operations, and personnel policies and procedures. Under the direction of the Production Manager complies with federal, state, and local warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements by studying existing and new legislation;

enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions. Controls inventory levels by conducting physical counts; reconciling with data storage system. Maintains physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts; inspecting equipment; issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement. Achieves financial objectives by preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions. Completes warehouse operational requirement by scheduling and assigning employees;

following up on work results. Maintains warehouse staff by recruiting, selecting, orientation, and training employees. Maintains warehouse staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies. Coordinates and participates in daily entering of receipt of raw materials, supplies and finished goods in computer systems.

Maintains plastic recycling program by initiating and coordinating the scrap grinding operation. Coordinates movement of finished goods and raw materials between main warehouse and off-sight storage. Coordinates the receipts of cartons, pallets and other supplies from suppliers as required by manufacturing Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Freight claims with carriers. Other duties as assigned. Maintain assigned Business Contingency Plan and ISO Documents.

Responsible for departmental safety: guides and promotes safe work performance; conducts safety training; encourages hazard identification; conducts accident reporting and investigation; and enforces safety regulations, methods, and PPE required in department.
