Accounts Payable Clerk
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accountant to manage Accounts Payable, perform bank reconciliations, and handle credit card transactions. This role ensures financial accuracy, timely processing of payments, and compliance with internal controls and accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Payable
- Process vendor invoices accurately and timely.
- Match invoices with purchase orders and receiving documents.
- Maintain vendor records and resolve discrepancies.
- Prepare and execute payment runs (checks, ACH, wire transfers).
- Ensure compliance with Club policies and approval workflows.
- Reconcile vendor statements and address outstanding balances.
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies between bank statements and general ledger.
- Monitor cash balances and report variances.
- Prepare reconciliation reports and supporting documentation.
- Assist with cash flow monitoring and forecasting.
- Process and reconcile corporate credit card transactions.
- Review employee expense reports for compliance and accuracy.
- Allocate expenses to appropriate GL accounts and cost centers.
- Investigate unauthorized or suspicious transactions.
- Ensure timely reconciliation of credit card statements.
- Prepare journal entries and maintain supporting documentation.
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Support audits by providing required documentation.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 2-5 years of experience in accounting (AP and reconciliations preferred).
- Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP or applicable framework).
- Proficiency in accounting software
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.).
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to meet deadlines during month-end close periods.
