Summary of Position

The incumbent is responsible for document production and administrative support utilizing a variety of manual and electronic processes. Responsibilities include preparing correspondence, reports, spreadsheets, and other documents; maintaining physical and electronic filing systems related to departmental activities; reviewing and processing forms; performing data entry; responding to staff inquiries and assisting with problem resolution; and processing purchase orders, invoices, and other documentation for payment.

Additional related administrative duties may be assigned as needed. This position provides administrative support with assigned duties split between the Emergency Response Department and the Projects & Facilities Department.

Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge
  • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures, office practices and recordkeeping system
  • Knowledge of document preparation, data entry, and filing processes
  • Knowledge of basic financial and purchasing processes, including purchase requisitions, invoices, and expense vouchers
  • Knowledge of Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point
  • Excellent customer service
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Knowledge in State and Federal Grants
  • Knowledge of Tribal Government operations and emergency response functions
  • Strong time management skills with ability to prioritize multiple tasks
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to engage with the public and other departments
  • Ability to prepare professional correspondence, reports, spreadsheets, and presentations
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion with sensitive information
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and respond effectively during emergency operations
  • Ability to follow SDP policies and procedures and directives
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma, or equivalent, required; and 2 years’ clerical experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • High degree of comfort in learning new software programs
  • Extended working hours, including weekends, may be required
  • Fluent in the Keres language preferred
  • Must be able to satisfactorily pass a background check such as FBI, State, Tribal, Motor Vehicle check and the new hire drug and alcohol test
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and be insurable through Santo Domingo Pueblo's liability plan
