JOB DESCRIPTION Deputy Director E 8 Exempt Health and Community Services Health and Community Services Deputy Director Coordinates and administers the planning, organization, preparation and administration of grants. Monitors grant activities to ensure compliance with funding agency requirements, as well as established rules and regulations. Conducts research on potential funding sources and grant opportunities for the maintenance and expansion of health and community services to the Taos Pueblo community.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Identifies and researches potential grant funding opportunities available through federal, state and private sources. Meets with program staff to determine funding needs and departmental goals; explores potential funding opportunities; coordinates the planning and preparation of grant proposals according to established proposal requirements and submission deadlines. Prepares and compiles all components of grant proposals for review and approval prior to submission; assembles and delivers proposal documents according to established proposal requirements and Final date to receive applicationss.
Creates timelines for grant submissions and gathers necessary and required information; performs research to supplement application narrative, budget or attachments. Tracks, monitors and maintains calendars for grant deadlines, deliverables, performance measures and reporting requirements across the Health and Community Services Division; uploads required documents into federal portals, as required. Maintains and organizes grant files and documentation, ensuring compliance with the Office of Management and Budget (0MB) Uniform Guidance and funder regulations. Supports audit preparation and responds to document requests regarding grant expenditures and activities. Collaborates with the Finance Department to monitor and coordinate th administration of post award grants to ensure budgets, administrative processes and expenditures adhere with Pueblo and funding agency requirements.
Provides technical assistance and guidance to staff in the interpretation of funding agency requirements, tracking deliverables, compiling information for reporting, and assisting with budget revisions, extensions and grant modifications. Ensures administrative and financial practices honor Taos Pueblo cultural values and adhere to strict confidentiality requirements. Participates in program meetings, community events, cultural activities and other related events as appropriate. Promotes a positive, culturally respectful work environment aligned with the values, culture and traditions of the Taos Pueblo.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of job-related experience. A combination of relevant education and related work experience may be considered. Tiwa speaking preferred. Must be able to pass drug test and background check, with NO prior convictions of any felonies. Taos Pueblo reserves the right to exercise preference in hiring for qualified Tribal members/Indians in connection with all positions.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY:
- Knowledge of traditional forms of government and the customs, traditions, values, culture and history of the Taos Pueblo
- Knowledge of principles of strategic and program planning, budgeting, principles of file and records management and grant funding regulations.
