We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Project Engineer to oversee and support multiple industrial building projects from planning through execution. This role requires strong understanding of subcontractor management, field operations, and experience with review of contract plans and specifications, project scheduling, cost forecasting, and team leadership. The ideal candidate will have a few construction projects under their belt performing subcontractor oversight for building projects, be proactive in identifying and resolving issues, ensuring compliance at the site, and driving operational excellence with the team.

• Perform contract compliance, quality control & field oversight of subcontractors on the project
• Develop a complete understanding of contract plans and specifications
• Inspect field conditions to identify problems, inaccuracies, and potential cost-saving measures
• Take corrective actions to resolve field issues
• Review subordinates’ work for compliance with contract documents; address deficiencies and implement corrective measures
• Project scheduling & coordination: develop and maintain the project master schedule using appropriate techniques and scheduling software and collaborate with project management personnel to gather input and ensure schedule accuracy
• Document control & change management: manage document control processes, logging and tracking new issue drawings and contract documents; review new issue drawings for changes in conditions, quantify impacts and communicate with supervisors; distribute updated documents to field teams
• Cost forecasting & financial planning: prepare monthly cost projections and develop quarterly cash-flow projections to support financial planning
• Operational improvement & leadership: recommend improvements to project operations including staffing, methods and procedures, serve as managing project engineer/coordinator across multiple projects, and provide supervision and on-the-job training for junior engineers and project staff

• Ability to travel and relocate as needed
• Undergraduate degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering or equivalent
• 5+ years work experience in construction or engineering; vertical construction preferred
• 2+ years experience managing engineers and project subcontractors
• Ability to read, analyze and identify discrepancies on engineering plans, specifications and contract documents
• Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative
