The successful candidate for this position will be a 1099 contractor with Music Ministry International and be responsible for the following:
Contract Position Title.Protestant Music Director and Musician
2. Scope of ResponsibilitiesLead the Cannon AFB Protestant community worship team in providing Song and music during the Protestant Worship Service to enhance the worship atmosphere. Also responsible for leading a choir and/or a praise team at rehearsals and recruitment of additional vocalist and musicians.
3.Education and Experience .
The Musician director
3.1. Must have experience as a musician, a vocalist, and either as a pianist or an acoustic guitarist.
3.2. Must demonstrate proficiency in musical skills through an audition and an interview prior to contract award.
3.3. Must possess the ability to tailor music to meet the worship needs of the service and the chaplain assigned to lead the worship service.
3.4. Must be able to obtain required child care criminal history background checks as required by the Air Force and the Department of Defense.
3.5. Must furnish a resume and references validating experience requirements listed above.
4. Duties and Responsibilities.The musician director will
4.1. Be responsible for the vocals and musical accompaniment for the Protestant Worship Service as mutually agreed upon with the chaplain.
4.2. Provide music for the service to include but not specifically limited to developing, implementing, coordinating and evaluating the music program for the service.
4.3. Comply with all applicable Air Force and local instructions for financial management and accounting, facility use, maintenance and security, etc., all of which are available upon request.
4.4. Provide services to include one worship service per week on Sunday at the Protestant Worship Service.
4.5. Perform at least one (1) rehearsal per service per week. Rehearsals will be held at the Cannon Community Chapel (Bldg. 58). All dates and times for rehearsals will be coordinated with the chaplain assigned to the service, including special and holiday event services.
4.6. Furnish a yearly budget for music, folders, and other supplies each August, or upon request, to the chaplain assigned to the service.
4.7. Submit requests for music supplies in writing to the chaplain responsible for the service in a timely manner, generally at least 30 days prior to items being needed.
4.8. Coordinate the use of microphone stands, music stands, microphones, and all other music equipment necessary to conduct the service with other worship service musicians and music directors.
4.9. Arrive at least thirty (30) minutes prior to the start of each service to oversee setup, and depart after all service clean up has be accomplished.
4.10. Conduct special services to include services and rehearsals for days of special religious significance or memorial/funeral services. Musician director will be given a minimum 18 hours notice prior to special services such as funerals/memorial services. Possible engagements include:
New Year’s Eve Service (Dec 31) Christmas Eve (Dec 24) Ash Wednesday (Feb/March) Christmas Day (Dec 25) Good Friday (March/April) Easter Vigil (March/April)
Other specials to be arranged as required by the chaplain
4.11. Recruit individuals for the choir/praise team, and/or special music.
4.12. Provide the lead chaplain a list of songs that will be sung 4 days prior to the start of the worship service and/or special service.
5 Sub-Contracting.5.1. As needed, the musician director shall provide a list of substitute contract personnel. Names of substitutes and credentials shall be provided no later than 30 calendar days prior to the sub-musician director fulfilling the contract. Sub-musician directors must meet or exceed the education and experience requirements listed in this statement of work as well as comply with all required regulations.
5.2. The Contracting Officer Representative reserves the right to refuse the services of such a substitute if he/she is deemed unqualified.
5.3. The Contracting Officer Representative should be notified at least 14 days before any leave of absence that would prevent the musician director from performing the services.

This is a part-time position with compensation based on budget and the successful candidate’s experience and qualifications..
