Overview

The Physician reports to the Regional Medical Manager and Medical Director for administrative issues, and to the Chief Clinical Officer for clinical issues. The Physician participates in a community-oriented primary care program at El Centro Family Health, providing general medical care in educational, preventive, curative, and rehabilitative areas. The Physician may also provide clinical supervision, technical assistance, and guidance to residents, health professional students, and other medical providers.

• Conduct physical exams, diagnose and treat illnesses, order and interpret tests, counsel on preventive health care, and write prescriptions.
• Access and manage personal and professional data regarding employees and patients, ensuring confidentiality and compliance.

• Graduation from an approved and accredited school of medicine with a degree of Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.).
• Board certification in family practice, internal medicine, or pediatrics, or minimum of five years experience if not Board certified.

• Licensure to practice medicine in New Mexico required.
• Licensure must be kept current, full, and unrestricted through participation in an appropriate course of continuing education.

• Post-residency experience in the medical professional field desirable, preferably in primary health care.

• Basic Life Support (BLS)/Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/ACLS.
• Current immunization records.
