Duties
SUMMARY:
The primary purpose of this position is:
To plan, implement, administer, and advise on Voluntary Education opportunities, the Military Tuition Assistance (MilTA) program, career and force development programs, testing, and other education and training services and activities available to military members, Department of Defense (DoD) civilians and family members. DUTIES:
* Provides individual career, academic, and force development advisement services to military personnel, dependents, and civilian personnel pursuing Voluntary Education opportunities.
* Serves as technical expert on a variety of Voluntary Education programs.
* Provides advisement and coordination on the Skill Bridge program.
* Provides mass briefings and a variety of outreach and customer services duties. Requirements Conditions of employment

* A security clearance may be required
* If authorized, PCS will be paid IAW JTR and AF Regulations. If receiving an authorized PCS, you may be subject to completing/signing a CONUS agreement. More information on PCS requirements, may be found at:

* Position may be subject to random drug testing
* Employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, to include evenings, weekends and/or holidays

* Full/part-time employees occupying direct childcare positions are eligible for discounts IAW DAF AFSVC/CC Memo, 30 Sep 22; first child 100% / each additional child 25%. Other assigned CYP and FCC personnel are eligible for 25% discount.
* Depending on the type of position (competitive/excepted) you are selected for, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period OR 2-year trial period.
* Upon completion of your probationary/trial period, your employment will be terminated unless you receive certification, in writing, that your continued employment advances the public interest. Qualifications In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Professional and Scientific Positions, to include the Individual Occupational Requirements (IOR) for the GS-1740, Education Services Series.
BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT:
Applicant must have a degree that included or was supplemented by at least 24 semester hours appropriate to the position to be filled in one or a combination of the areas described below. At least one course must have been from (1) or (2) below.
NOTE:

1. Tests and measurement:
Study of the selection, evaluation, administration, scoring, interpretation, and uses of group and individual aptitude, proficiency, interest, and other tests.
2. Adult education:
Study of the adult as a learner, teaching-learning theories for adults, models and procedures for planning, designing, managing, and evaluating adult learning activities.
3. Educational program administration:
Study of the foundation and methods in organizing for adult and continuing education programs.
4. Curriculum development or design:
Study of the principles and techniques for development of curricula for adult or vocational education programs.
5. Teaching methods:
Study of teaching strategies and learning styles of the adult learner.
6. Guidance and counseling:
Study of the purposes and methods in counseling and guidance, the role of the counselor in various settings, approaches to counseling, and the uses of tests in the counseling situation.
7. Career planning:
Study of career development, learning activities, systems, approaches, program coordination, use of educational and community resources, and vocational counseling systems.
8. Occupational information:
Study of theories of occupational choice and vocational development and their application to the guidance process. Identification and utilization of various types of occupational information and resources. EXPERIENCE:
