Substitute Teacher
Responsible for providing instruction, managing the classroom environment, providing student training, and promoting student training in the absence of the regular classroom teacher. Under the immediate direction of the principal, to provide an education program for students and assist other school programs as assigned.
Reports to:
Building Principal
- High School Diploma or Equivalency (GED);
- Must obtain a Substitute Teaching License from New Mexico Public Education Department
- 18 years of age if performing instructional services in grades K-8
- 21 years of age if performing instructional services in grades 9-12
- Ability to attend training/observations;
- Experience with computers with the ability to enter data in computers;
- Ability to implement lessons based on the classroom teacher's lesson plans;
- Ability to establish and maintain an effective relationship with students, peers, and parents;
- Ability to communicate with students both orally and in writing in English Language;
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general educational material;
- Ability to write reports;
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of students;
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts, solve problems, and effectively teach them to students;
- Ability to maintain confidentiality;
- Able to perform the following essential duties, physical and mental functions, and utilize the essential equipment of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
